Welcome to Melourgia, a nomadic and award-winning beekeeping company in Chios, Greece! Chios is an island with rich biodiversity and is a hotspot for endemic plants. The island's dry summer heat and relative lack of rainfall give plants and herbs an intense potency, which has been measured by scientists. Nectar and honeydew from these species offer Melourgia bees the opportunity to make some very unique honey.

Melourgia's 'Forest and Wildflower Honey' was awarded two gold stars in the 2023 Great Taste Awards, the world's most coveted food and drink awards. Judges describe it as "deep golden brown, almost the colour of treacle and so smooth in the mouth with a perfect level of sweetness. The deeply rich caramel notes work around the mouth, coating the tongue with hints of spice-perhaps nutmeg-teasing us as they evolve. The long finish is refined and gentle but wonderfully complex. It has a medicinal flavour profile with floral mountain pasture notes…a woody aroma, with flavours that are delicious and complex and not at all sweet. They build in the mouth and then linger-herbs, woody, and floral notes".
